IN the coming months Hotmail are to offer a 250mb box for its standard free users, along with a 10mb attachment size increase, in resonse to googles Gmail.

Might be nicer to hand on to that aul hotmail account after all, since gmail is in heaps with this new ad tracking thing.

No its really just for those people thinking of getting a G mail address, and be subject to whatever E-mail viewing and storing ad system that they will operate to put in ads into the emails they will recive from G-Mail. Microsoft Perhaps arnt such a bad option to stay with for free internet mail.

What is wrong with you people? Hotmail scans your emails for viruses, ie. "reads" them, same as gmail. Hotmail also displays ads last time I checked and adds a hotmail ad to the bottom of every email you send. gmail displays no ads whatsoever in your email, just in the web interface. Yahoo and most of the other free webmail sites do the same as hotmail.

Now if people were complaining about how googles adsense on every second site on the web is possibly tracking their browsing habits I could understand their worries, but saying that gmail are doing something that all other free webmail accounts do, and that its somehow bad (even though gmail are completely open and up front about it) is just needlessly paranoid in my opinion.
