I'm new to this so please bear with me, maybe I'm mis-interpreting something.

I have seen this a few times on VC poker single table tourney.

A guy goes all-in in the first few hands and doubles or triples through. Then he is disconnected and the game goes on for maybe 10 mins before he comes back. By this time the table has thinned out quite a bit and he is still holding onto his big stack from early in the game. He now has an advantage in that he has survived the intervening hands and has not been forced to post the blinds. To add to it the graphic saying he is dis-connected doesn't always clear so you tend to ignore him.

This strikes me as a dishonest ploy. Am I being too suspicious?

He will have been blinded while he's away. The only one to suffer is him as for all intents and purposes, we has just folded every hand unseen!

    freerolls or cash games?
If its a freeroll, his motive is to win my not playing. All in will let his stack either be doubled at least or he will get the blinds people fold. Good if your playing cash games and want more centage.

It's in the 10c giveaway single table tourney so there is a monetary gain even though its very small.

It is generally a ploy especially on sites where u can play multiple tables.

I got a warning from pokerstars for discussing blinding one of these people away.

In real life you could get up from your table and go to the cinema, come back and play on. You can do it online too. Big deal. You takes your chances.

I dont think this is true.....there was an issue with this in the Fitz the night Dave Cleary died.....Teddy left the table and his chips and was gone for a while, then some of the players discussed a rule whereby his chips should be removed after 2 or 3 missed rounds,Sharon removed them then Luke came back in and said there were special circumstances and Teddys chips were put back in play.

I've been at tourneys in the fitz where a player left for an hour and came back. My point being that online allows taking this to extremes but going offline is taking a chance anyway. No real advantage.

My understanding is that if you're absent for two full rounds your chips should be removed. The problem is that, especially when shorthanded, it creates an unfair advantage for people on or close to the button/SB for the absentee's big blind. I had an unfortunate practical outing on this one in a freeroll.

This is true in the Merrion but in the fitz you can leave for as long as you like its just that Dannielle doesnt realise this

With the cash game there is a waiting list which is why they were taken. They wouldn't be removed in tournament.

    I HOPE!
