hi guys. i just bought a radeon 9800 pro 128 and didn't realise that the power supply in my own pc is just 250 watt. i know ati recommends at least 300 watt psu and others say at least 350. i was looking at the sl350. keep in mind that i will probably want to overclock this to an xt by flashing the bios and getting an Arctic Cooling REV3 VGA Silencer. do you think this is enough or will i get something more powerful? from dabs i can get a thermaltake silent 420w for only £5 morehttp://www.dabs.com/uk/Search2/Product+Details.htm?quicklinx=28YR&searchphrase=psu

the x800 requires a 350watt the xt uses up more power than that i think

id go with the thermaltake one they are reputable for making good psus as IMO 350 may be troublesome and might waste your money

i didn't realise that dabs won't have that thermaltake for another 1-2 weeks. can anybody else find a good psu at similar price?

There are a good few decent brands have a look at the link in my Sig and scroll down a bit for some tips on PSU's.

    Generally have a look at...

    www.hitide.ie - be-quiets , www.pc-look.com - Antecs, Fortrons, Tagans.

Depends how much of a factor noise is, and you might want to make sure your not fitting this into a dell as it has non standard connections.
