Help! My Burst client is dead. I recently reinstalled XP home as I was having some blue screens and now Burst won’t work. When I launch it I get a message saying its had a problem and is shutting down. I have uninstalled it, re downloaded the client and reinstalled it. All to no avail. Will I need to mess about with the registry.?

Any help would be appreciated as I am found of Burst.

Please delete this thread and accept my apologies if it contravene any rules

    Cheers,

What problem specifically did it state? Also does it indicate the same problem again after re-installation?

When I launch Burst I get a window with a message saying that Burst encountered a problem when opening and has to shut down. It doesn’t specify the exact error. I get the same error after reinstalling the program

I'm assuming when you reinstalled XP it was a clean wipe; not an installation over an existing one?

Also you did download all the Windows updates before installing Burst?

"burst! crashes on startup! I receive an error 216 (and probably have an Intel Pentium 4 CPU with HyperThreading enabled)."
"There is a compatibility problems with Windows XP SP1 and burst!. To work around this problem, right click on burst!, click on Compatibility and enable Win98/ME compatibility mode."

    Anything related here?

Yep have p4 CPU with Hyper Threading enabled (all though I did disable HT) and running XP SP1. I reinstalled over an existing version of XP SP1. Will have to schedule a clean install soon - however, its such a pain to re-set up everything.

Will try the Compatibility thing tonight when I get home that will hopefully solve the problem

    Cheers
