In Europe, Moris Tepper is music’s best kept secret, however, in his homeland across the pond, Moris’s records and live shows are raved about by both press and public, as evidenced by endless reviews and packed out shows. _Anyone who has listened to Tepper perform hears something that differs from his role as guitarist and sideman for such luminaries as Captain Beefheart, Tom Waits, Frank Black and Robyn Hitchcock. _Moris is an intrinsic part of the unique sounds for which these underground favourites have become legend. __

An interview in LA Weekly recently claimed that Moris is “the most original guitar player on the planet, and did in fact have a big hand in chiselling the second Magic Band’s spiky, brain-wringing sound. It’s a stumbling, clairvoyant, feral approach to the ax, a point of view that he has for the last several years brought to a solo career that has produced three albums of startling virtuosity, melodic abundance and freely individual character.” __

"Head Off" will be Tepper’s fourth album. _As well as recording and touring extensively with Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band, Tepper still talks to the painter-musician every day and has co-written ‘Ricochet Man’ with Beefheart (Don Van Vilet) - Beefheart's first collaboration in 35 years.

In his native, LA, PJ Harvey plays bass in Tepper’s band, and Moris will be returning the favour by supporting Harvey on her forthcoming European tour in July. __
