Copying and pasting

    Just a quick question. My laptop seems to slow down to almost a stand still or it freezes when I try to copy and paste or drag and drop items. I was dragging and dropping files to a USB thumb drive the other day and it was fine but I was trying at the weekend and it slows right down. The egg timer appears and the screen freezes.

    Any ideas on what the problem might be?

    You could have something running in the background thats taking up a shed load of RAM. Does you hard drive access light go nuts when you copy/paste? Have a look at the items in your system tray and see which ones are really necessary and which are just wasting space, then have a look at what processes are running in the task manager and see what could do with being gotten rid of.

    Also as a precaution do a virus check.
