I have about 15m of RG-6/U cable connecting them, and recently, I have noticed that when the sun comes out, I lose all of my vertically polarized channels (including the def. transponder). I have a panasonic TU DSB 40 sky digibox, with a skyware SX 1019 LNB. I have about 15m of RG-6/U cable connecting them, and recently, I have noticed that when the sun comes out, I lose all of my vertically polarized channels (including the def. transponder). Re-booting the box simply gets it stuck in "Searching for Listings" and then the no signal message. The Signal test shows up no signal strength or quality, it displays the signal is "not locked" and my transport stream goes 0807.

I'm a newbie to digital tv and any help would be greatly appreciated

Try unscrewing the lnb cable from the box and stripping it a bit more,it might just be that there is not enough of it's core entering the connection point.
