Not sure where to post this so am posting here. I'm looking for a small portable FM transmitter. Basically, want one for my car so that I can listen to my mp3 player through the car stereo. Be great if you could get one with a cigarette lighter power adapter thing. Is there any place in Dublin that do this or online from a reputable retailer ?

    Cheers,
    TC

Can't buy them in Ireland as they are illegal (silly, i Know). Your best bet is online - there's lots of them on eBay but that may not be to your liking.

you dont want a fm transmitter.
what you want is an fm modulator.

you plug the mp3 player into the RCA inputs on the modulator, the modulator plugs directly into the ariel socket of your stereo and there is a loop through for your existing ariel

Most car radios don't have easily accessible aerial sockets do they?

Just pull out the radio, the aerial plugs in on the right hand side. Not to hard to get to.

If you have an Ipod then the Itrip is the must have FM accessory. It just clips on to the top of your Ipod and doesn't need batteries.

I am not sure if they ship to Ireland. I got my one shipped to an U.S. Address as I was going over on holidays at the time. If you search this forum you will find more information.

Its certainly cover my house and property. I havent tested the limit but its probably good quality for 100m if ariel is in the open. Plus if you want to add just a few meters buy a very small power amp.
