Ok myself and my mate are lining up the hungarian grand prix for this year due to the fact that we're going inter railing around that time and it fits in nicely with the schedule.

anyway i'm having trouble find information on the location of the circuit and how to get to and from it other then its about 15km outside budapest

the race weekend is 13-15th of august and we should be arriving in budapest on the morning of the 13th from prague which will allow us time to get our bearings.

anyway i'm wondering has anyone here been to the hungarian grand prix and would they have any info about travel to and from the track and the ideal position for a hostel etc.

    cheers

Yep I've been there twice 1998 & 1999... Very popular with the Irish so you should bump into a few 'locals' there. When I went.. you caught the subway from central budapest to another location (can't think where but its all signposted for the F1).. When you get to that location, there is a free coach transfer to the hungaroring (bout 35-45 mins).. Then you have to walk bout a mile or so.. Roads are narrow so the Bus only goes so far..

    Enjoy !
