Euro Symbol and Email

Can someone please explain to me why the euro symbol comes out as a question mark on the receiver's end? On some occasions when I receive a message the euro symbol appears correctly so I know that my email client (outlook express 6) is set up ok for receiving messages with the symbol. Many times, however, the symbol is received by me as a question mark. I have been told by receivers of email from me that the same applies. My version of windows is 98 - 2nd edition.

I believe from the above that the problem exists in the configuration of the email client of the sender.

I would appreciate if someone out there can help me sort out this glitch.

    Thanks,

    Joe Howard
