    A quick question.

My parents are using old unison.ie mail accounts which I set up for them a couple of years ago. They are trying to access them via the Eircom 1892150150 and while mail can be sent, it cannot be recieved. Does anyone know if eircom block other ISPs mail servers and if so can anyone suggest a workaround or an alternative ISP that will allow access.

    Thanks.

Now that's very interesting. I'm sort of ina similar boat accessing old Unison accounts via Eircom access; though i'm on broadband not dialup.

I can receive mails on the Unison account; but can't send any out. This makes sense to me as obviously Unison probably wouldn't want any accounts to be used for spamming.. i.e a non-Unison ip accessing the account...

You are using the Unison POP / SMTP settings for the Unison account and not Eircom ones right?

    Yeah, pop3.unison.ie and smtp.unison.ie.

It works fine over my Eircom BB connection but not over dialup.

Hmm, you can send email but not recieve it. Thats quite an odd problem, usually its the other way round. Anyway try utv dial-up IIRC they don't block you from accessing other isp's email accounts, This proves how crap eircom are, again.
