Discount airlines in the USA?

    Can anyone give me the names of some discount airlines (like ryanair) in the USA?

    These are all low cost airlines but with limited routes. I can vouch for Southwest, they are great and low cost but again, with limited routes

    Yeah I flew Southwest from LAX to Vegas a couple of years ago. USD18.00 one way and the only time I have ever seen on an aircraft four seats facing each other. Like on a train without the table in the middle.

    There are a lot of regional, no-frills, low-cost airlines around, so it really depends on what part of the country you'll be in.
    If you are going to be in the south, however, I highly recommend Southwest Airlines. Haven't had the opportunity to fly with them recently, but used to use them to hop from Houston to New Orleans, and they're great!
    Also, check for partners, if you're already on a frequent flyer program. You maybe able to get deals there.

    As others have said it depends where you flying to and from. If you flying anywhere around the west coast alaskaair.com are worth a visit.
