Ta. What do you make of their 'bundle' deal?

    Bundle Deal: {DV 3237} Silver Topped Unbranded (2x) DVD-R and {DV 3202} Datawrite Titanium Silver 8x DVD-R
Buy the bundle and save 10%
£14.98 / Euro 21.78 for 100 discs, but then shipping brings it up to £27.91 / Euro 40.60...

Anyone know where I can get a Coupon Code for these guys? ;)

    Where's that, sailorboy..?
And when you say no shipping costs, do you mean they've to be collected?

Why do people constantly buy such poor (Bulkwaq lifespan is surely less than 5 years) media for the sake of a few squids.

www.mediawrite.ie guys, company based in cork with a great selection of all types of media

This site is handy as it has a huge list of diffent types of dvd media that you can cross reference to see whether a particular brand are of high quality.

Thanks guys (especially for that second link, kinkstr - very useful!)

I know it can be shortsighted to buy lower-quality discs if you want them to last, but tbh a lot of my backups are just crappy films/games-of-the-month for the kids. I don't really care if they don't last for years and years.

Had a quick look around eBay and came across this seller - think I might set a sniper on a few of his €1-start auctions..! :D

The only problem i found with buying cheap dvd's is they scratch just by looking at them. i think you are better off going for a bit of quality in a blank dvd

    Does that really matter though?

When blue ray / 45 gig HD DVD becomes cheap i intend to transfer
all my burnt DVDs over to those disks.

That is definately going to happen within 5 years.

    But then again....thats just me....

PS, I agree with out about buying crap, all those silver cheap CDs
i bought 2 years ago are now gone yellow and are rotting!
But most of them are transfered to DVD.

I prefer the printable discs than silver tops, my silver cds all end up peeling. The printable surface is thick and stops scratches and the white makes it nice for writing on, I have used the {DV 3187} Rivision Inkjet Printable (8x) DVD-R in Spindle Tubs of 25 for €6.20 and they work in all the players I have tried, (about 15).

coupon codes for SVP are usually only given at teh weekends, join their mailing list to get the codes emailed to you, I usually post them here when I get them, they generally have them every 1-2months, but have had more lately. Post stays the same up to a high weight. They have lots of dirt cheap cases, folders, cables, pens too, so get value for your postage. Ask mates or people in work if they want discs to go splits on post. Many people would want the dirt cheap folders that hold 100's of blanks
