I wonder what would happen if he was killed while in another country? I mean, the US presidents that have been assasinated have been so in America by Americans...What do you suppose would happenif someone say, in Ireland Killed him?

America cant really attack itself they just put the guy in jail,
do you suppose an attack would be launched on the killers country of origin taking it as an act towards America??

His visit to Ireland and the people protesting brought this question to mind since many of them no doubt would like to see him dead or out of office...If you know people want to kill you in other countries then why do you keep going there?

The death of Bush would not help anyone. If he was killed in Ireland then I would'nt like our odds for not being invaded by the US. It would be used as an excuse to take over the world.

I suspect they'd ignore the overwhelming evidence of the origin of the assassin(s) and invade another country they didn't really like all that much instead. Like France. They've got some WMD as well. They've got to be a threat.

The US isn't going to invade any European country. What would happen is that Bush would become a martyr and it would become heresy to go against any of his ideas so the US would continue to meddle with poor, "threatening" countries saying it's what Dubya would have wanted.

Ten years ago maybe. But we've moved further away from dependence on either US or British economies. The EU makes up the majority of our funding, and US companies only come here for Tax breaks anyway. (anyway they're heading to Scotland, and other countries instead nowadays). Economically, the US giving Ireland the cold shoulder would just introduce a small bit of hardship. But nothing more than we're receiving from the EU-US tradewar thats currently going on. (Ok. Not quite a tradewar, but its damn close)

If Bush got assassinated in Ireland, not much would happen. There'd be a huge man-hunt, they'd find out that the killers were trained in Ireland, were Irish, and then invade the UK. The UK does afterall have both WMD's and its own Oil resources.

There would be a huge FBI manhunt, and Bertie would spend the rest of his days in office profusely apologising. Everybody else would breathe a sigh of relief. I don't think Bush is really martyr material, do you?

What would be the point in invading Ireland anyway? Who would fight them? And we'd probably end up with a very similar government that panders to the US almost as much as the current one.

Net result: No real difference.

lol.. It would be Palestine and Iraq all over again. I could just see the IRA turning away people because they'd receive so many volunteers to fight the occupation. The US would find themselves, under severe threat from the otehr European countries, and the Irish section of teh US Senate would go crazy. Not going to happen. Hell, the US would find itself facing an united Europe if they tried invading any nation within the EU. <ouch>

since this is conspiracy theory central...

to elaborate on klaz's point of a united europe... maybe Blair will get one of his MI5 heads to kill Bush, that would mean he wouldnt have to back him up all the time anymore (and would allow him to appease the lefties while not breaking a promise), it would also give great support in the UK to the EU constitution... say Bush dies, Cheney would attack an EU country of some description, the EU would join up and fight back (Russia might help too... and China, for the laugh), and once the war ended and Europe had won, Blair would hit them with the referendum, Eu patriotism in the UK would be at an all time high and it would sail through... thus Blair would save his career from the two main threats he is facing at the moment.
