    Just wondering if anyone knows if iol plan to upgrade their bbplus to speeds more than 512k. Its beginning to seem like 56k again:D . Has anyone heard anything about this yet

    i dont think iol can do anything about the speeds untill eircom come out first with a new faster option for home users, as iol are reselling an eircom product.

    nope:( wish they did, 1mb radsl would be great.
    theres very little for the home user to choose from: just 2 different 512k offerings both with small caps that are 4gigs apart.
    no unlimited cap option or faster than 512k.

    There is the business offerings but they are really expensive and often radsl users cant get the business adsl products as its even more strict. Another downside to the business adsl is high interleaving which gives high pings.

    When NTL upgrade their speeds later on this year watch for something then - *maybe* an increase for the top tier customers from 512kbps to 1Mbps and an increase in cap, that would seem very unlikely but the only hope we have:dunno:. Yes 512Kbps is very slow.

    Pinging boards.ie [82.195.131.128] with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 82.195.131.128: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=60
    Reply from 82.195.131.128: bytes=32 time=30ms TTL=60
    Reply from 82.195.131.128: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=60
    Reply from 82.195.131.128: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=60

    Ping statistics for 82.195.131.128:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
    Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 30ms, Maximum = 32ms, Average = 31ms

    Aint no high interleaving here, pings are normal and this is Business ADSL :dunno:
