Seems to be allot of insults and harsh comments. What would you guys like to see on it? What's so bad about it? Not gonna post the site name, those who know, know. So let me know! please.

I don't really think anybody is insulting your site Cormie. Informing you that there is a virus, or saying it's defunct, hardly harsh, considering that a) there was a virus and b) the site hasn't been updated in a while.

People do seem to find it funny that you're hawking it at any oppurtunity. As for things I'd like to see, not much, though news about what's happening in Irish poker might be an idea. for instance, the world's largest pot limit hold'em competition is on in Ireland this week, with all the most famous players, but not a mention of it.

I have a question though, which obviously you're not obliged to answer:
Do Empire Poker keep a log of the number of players that are referred to them through your site, and is your advertising dependent on it?

<edit> ok, so maybe henbane insulted your website, perhaps he was drunk and didn't mean it <edit>

This unique service in online poker allows users to play for real money without the need of a credit card or the hastle and cost of wire transfers. All you have to do is send poker.ie the amount you wish to deposit in Euros (€) and we will transfer the equivalent in US Dollars ($) to your online poker account. Once the funds are transferred, you will be able to play with real money immediately. Getting started in the world of online poker couldn't be easier!

Ahem, this has more than a touch of the 'Hello I am Prince Owaybo from Nigeria and I wish to transfer $30 million into your bank account' etc. etc. about it :)

That pay for play deal is in development. The whole site is in development.

Yes, it was bare for quite some time, too long, but now its starting to populate with usefull info.

I know we have nothing on the current tournament. Unfortunately we are not ready to post such information. It will be better and more usefull in time to come, I hope:) thanks

Less flashing ads, an attractive design, a workable navigation system and some content would be a good start. It looks like a cheap porn site atm.

You shouldn't keep mentioning it until its fully up and running, with good content, good layout, and has enough to keep it going and keep people coming back.

Once you have that done, you could simply put a one line link in your sig. Then never mention it again, probably to much to hope for.

    haha

I like the design and layout and its easy enough to get from place to place... How could it be easier? pop down menus and all that? I put the whole thing together myself. Maybe that explains it! Could you link me to a site that you consider well designed (poker site preferably) Do you not like the semi retro look?

    http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/

This is Daniel Negreanu's new site which isn't fully finished but I think it has the makings of a really good site.

This site is also very good,
    http://www.gutshot.co.uk/

They have alot more money and resources than yourself so it's not fair to compare them to yours.

Most of the sites in the Links section I visit frequently too, some good sites there.

Edit: Forgot http://www.pokerpages.com, excellent coverage, mostly American. Haha can't stop, http://www.thehendonmob.com, horrible looking site but great content, excellent forum where you get all the latest updates.

Look at the quality and caliber of other sites and then compare yours. It's a no brainer as to what's wrong with it.

I hope you sort it out and get a decent site going as it would benefit poker in ireland to have a professional looking site with proper content with a moniker like poker.ie.

If you are serious about it's development, perhaps you could get some help from some of the boardsers?

it just looks amateur, not retro.

i am new here and have never seen your site until just now when i had a look.

i would have to agree with a lot of the above:

the design is pretty muck, but thats just an opinion.

the navigation is fine imo, but it is hard to notice the linkg at the top, and i thought i had to go back everytime to get to other sections.

content-wise: the directory section is pretty bare, the online table looks horrible
and i really thikn that you should put in THE section about the casinos in dublin as there is not huge amounts out there at the moment, marks site ukpoker has a decent section, but its now subscription.

i lake the resources section but it doesnt appear to be anything that can't be found elsewhere in a nicer format

again the products section seems fine but nothing that cant be found elsewhere in a nicer format

the forum is pretty empty, whihc is a problem for people starting them up, you could think about linking to some of the usenet stuff just to get your numbers up and then submit back to usenet.

all in all i think it is pretty bare!

as you said it is not yet finished. i think as was mentioned above, you should wait until it is in a releasable state then make an announcement and hope for the best. at the moment i cant see anything in there that would make me want to come back.

i hope that the above helps and best of luck with your site, i hope that it is a success.

    cheersd

    Thanks for that.

The intention of the site is not really to be in competition with other poker sites but to provide information for residents of Ireland on poker in Ireland.

Please explain more about usenet and the forum.

Does the online table look horrible because its empty or what?

Casino links will be posted soon

Nicer format? What would make it nicer?

    Regards!

i dont know if you are a designer or a developer or neither, but i like this kind of site look: http://ircspy.com/ again this is just my opinion.

the way you sayt that the site is meant to "provide information for residents of Ireland on poker in Ireland" --> i didnt see any of that! i know you say that links are coming soon, but anyone can link the the casinos sites (whihc are also not the best!!)

as for the table --> i just think it looks horrible! sorry! i dont like the borders on/off every second line, i think the yellow is a bit! and its so close to matching the yellow in your logo up top, but doesn't and that stood out a mile for me! also yeah its pretty empty! maybe use sme javascript / php to only draw a table to accomadate whats there?

as for usenet have a look at this and after you have read it you can pm / mail me with any specific questions if you have any...

    hope it helps
