you know when you download a file with firefox, and a little box appears in the bottom right corner telling you that it has finished downloading? You do? Good. Well if you point to the text in that box, the mouse changes such that it looks like a link, but if you click it, nothing happens (at least not for me). Is it meant to open the folder in which the file was saved, or is it not meant to do anything at all?

    just curious!

get download manager tweak extension , has lots of features like what you want.
    http://dmextension.mozdev.org/
Works well too with pausing and restarting which is handy when its a 500mb mod or somfin.

I don't think it's meant to be a link I think it's meant to look 'nice'. Nice extension KdjaC.

I installed that download manager and it messed things up. When I restarted I was getting "Firefox is finishing installing extensions" and it wouldnt go away. I had to delete the extensions folder to get it back working. I read somewhere that it is due to a typo in some install.rdf file.

if its 0.9 go into firefox(safe mode) and uninstall the offending extension.

happened to me with the undoclosetab ext.

you might have to open the shortcut a few time for it to go into firefox thou:rolleyes:

Firefox is a great browser, but things like spelling mistakes in extensions (even if they are provided by a 3rd party) are totally inexcusable. If people actually tested these things then it wouldn't happen!

I'm after getting that little tweak there, but i haven't tested it yet. One thing though, you can go to preferences and tell it to leave the downloads window open when finished, it's a bit more useful then.

I use this nice extension when downloading in Firefox. Puts a toolbar on firefox when your downloads are going which contain progress bar, speeds, whaever you want etc.

    Nice extension.

Visiting that site in IE isint the best idea too btw. Its all over the place.

It worked fine first time for me and I'd hazard a guess that it worked fine when they tested it. You're getting software for free.
Personally, I'd say thanks very much for providing an excellent browser for free.

That sounds pretty sweet Winters, gonna try it out now.
