Yeah, thats right, i'm too lazt to research buying a printer, i searched a few threads, but nothing really too helpful to me.

I need to replace the printer here. Its only used to print a few colour docs and not much else really. Thing is i'm cheap. Whats a good cheap printer to run, and say print CD's also? I'm asking because a few of you guys know a lot about printers.

Question 2 is small so no need for a seperate thread. I want to network to my other computer in my room. I worked out the distance is less than 10m including going up to the attic and back down the other side. What would i need to network 2 computers over this distance. Both have RJ45 ports. Would i need a booster over this distance or is that crazy talk. I assume i'd need a crimpers, 10m of cat5 and two ends? Rought estimate of cost of these?
    Thanks..

    You need a 10M cat5 cross-over cable,

    Thanks JoePC

Ok, but i'll be running it through the attic(i'm not going to drill a big hole in the ceiling), so i'll need a crimpers or something. Just wondering if 10m was a problem, but it shouldn't be ?:

i'm pretty sure you can run up to about 100m without needing a booster, but the longer the cable, the less your maximum transfer rate will be.
