was out from 7:30ish till 13:00hrs, we were intending to go after bream and pike but the tench had other ideas :)

Biggest fish was 5lb 3oz, all 12 of them fought well, 9 of them were mine. All were caught on a mixture of maggots and sweetcorn.

It was at a lake about 2 mailes outside Monaghan town, its well known for its Bream.

And tench are not for eating, they are for sport, and all were safely returned to grow and be caught another day. If you want fish for supper go to the freezer section in Tescos, not your local lake.

Quiglough, keep an eye on the Irish Angling Updates, they tend to be pretty accurate as to what lakes are fishing well. Drumreaske for instance is just bloody dire atm.
