ive been noticing lately...well..im sure its always been there

but when i do my curls....i can feel my lats flex..this down to the wrong posture?

i know the exact positions of most of my exercises....my back is straight...feet placed shoulder width apart...elbow not dug into my hip

could it be an actual slight physical defect in my structure that makes my lats flex with the bicep curl?

I can't give any advice but what i will say is that I have problems with bicep curls too. I used to do them standing up and with dumbbells. No matter how hard I tried to isolate the bicep and maintain good form, I always ended up utilising my back during the movement. For me it was the traps that would flex rather than the lats. I no longer do bicep curls because one day I felt a slight tweak in my trap while doing them so that put me off them. It's funny how I can't seem to do a seemingly simple exercise like a bicep curl properly whereas I have no problem maintaining good form during heavy compound movements such as deadlifts, bench presses and weighted chins which seem like far more complex and "dangerous" exercises

I always do bicep curls using a preacher bench or sitting on an incline bench.

I think these are the best 2 exercises to force you into using only your biceps.

Try these and see how you get on.
