    Yeah, he's amazing.

I don't know how good your French is, but you should definitely check out "Scott Walker Sings Jacques Brel". Walker is renowned for interpreting (and translating) Brel's tunes. They translate really really well into English, and Walker's got a nice voice too.

I went to see Jack L's show "Love Sex Death Brel" twice when it was on. It was Jack L singing Brel's tunes with a full band and it was phenomenal! He brought out a DVD, but I think it's only available mail order from his website.

By the way, a word of warning: If you're a big Jack L or Divine Comedy / Neil Hannon fan, once you hear Scott Walker sing you may question the originality of both their singing styles! They both openly cite Walker as a big influence...

That's not to knock either of them though, they're both very good musicians!

    Thanks for the info,
I got a few Scott walker songs but personally i dont think that his voice is anywhere as near as strong as brel's but hes still good all the same.

Bowie transalted and covered a fair few Jaques Brel tunes.

"All the Young Dudes" - thats a Jaques Brel song (not many people know that - but its not on any of his albums - except maybe a best of)

Jack L's version of 'Next' absolutely piddles all over Walker's version, though I have to say I've not heard Brel's. Though Brel's version of Fuenral Tango is just out of this world.
