Mirror Sub Query

Now that Irish Racing is due back on our screens on ATR I am thinking of getting a second separate family pack sub. Happy to pick up a second hand box but what do Sky charge for 2nd sub - is it full €28.50? or can I get a reduced price mirror sub? And is there a stipulation of a phone connection??

Hi Dec4,

It's EUR 15 for a 2nd sub regardless of the cost of the primary sub but the box has to be connected to the same phone line as the primary sub.

Got my original box long before phoneline was mandatory. Does second box require phone connection even if 2nd hand?

Yes. The phone connection is to ensure that both boxes are in the same location.

Some questions I have related to the above :

1) 2nd sub obviously requires new box. Does 2nd sub require separate cabling to the dish and 2nd LNB on dish ?

2) The costs obviously are the 2nd box and the €15 monthly sub (as outlined above). Anyone know the installation cost (including the cabling & LNB) ?

3) Is there a cost associated with the 'mirror' card for the 2nd box ?

4) Does the installation cost of 2nd box differ between going directly to SKY themselves or going through an independent supplier ?
