was a fun night, only spent a tenner so almost free poker for a couple of hours.
Didn't see many good cards, got pocket 9's 2nd last hand before the break and doubled up. Didn't get great cards after the break made a stand on middle pair and straight draw but gotcalled by top pair and lost. That was at about midnight and there was still about 45 players left I think. I'd say it was a late night, probably 6 or more tickets though.

I was out something like 30th to Russ when his A5 made a straight on the river. *sob*

I got nothing all night except the 89 suited I beat Norman's 44 with. Even the two times I went all in in a row and everyone folded to me, I only had K10 (though I wasnt lying I did have it twice in a row and twice I got away with it!)

By the end I didnt care, all will to play had been sucked out of me by Q5o again and again and again...

Went out fairly soon after the freeze out, enjoyed the night though. Got absolutely nothing til the second level of blinds. Then i hit AK, AA and AK. First AK came up against AA's though.

Eventually went out on A2s, best i had seen in a bit.

I've only been in the Fitz twice - the first time I played on tables with Norman all night - he was involved in the hand I was knocked out on, and was very unhappy with someone else during that hand. But that's another story. He certainly likes to talk! Just wondering, do any of ye know a guy by the name of Killian who goes in there - think he's won a couple of times in last few months - possibly made final tables a fair bit also...

Didn't get anything. Near the start I got pocket 10's, I was small blind, blinds 10/25 or 25/50, quite allot of big blind callers so I raise to 275, big blind goes all in, another goes all in on top of that and another calls, I'm like ehhhh... didn't you guys just "call" the blind initially? So I thought about it and folded my pocket 10's, Big blind had AJ suited, the next (who just called pre flop) had cowboys and the other had AQo. Glad I folded. I wasn't in on a flop for the whole game until I was big blind and it wasn't raised at about 10.30. Hit nothing there, then I was down to 175 with blinds 100/50. With about 4 mins till freezeout. I should have just hung in till freezeout but I got pocket hooks and 175 went to pocket cowboys, so I did a rebuy (what 700 only, everyone else was getting 900 or more??) then I realised the more you rebuy, the more you get. screw that! so I had 700 now and was moved upstairs, last hand, I was big blind with AK, UTG goes all in everyone else folds. I call, he has pocket 9's. me out. so I was in 3 hands (one an unraised blind). haha

went ok for quite a while, then with 13 left I was moved to the other table. Gah! Anyway went to steal the blinds with Qc8c (suited for crying out loud) and Russ on Big decided to call with Q6o. Split pot.
The very next hand I decided to go for it with QJo. Pushing my luck as I found Russ with AQ and off I went in 11th position. 2 a.m. and nothing to show for it.
Surprisingly there were only 5 tickets plus vouchers. With 90 playing that seems strange.
I noticed outside a site snotice stating that on 1st June the Fitz applied for planning permission to change the use of the premises to a card club, slow play or what :)

yeah seemed odd that there were only 5 tickets.
Still a lot of the players were students and I suspect they were on Cormie's budget....

270x5=1350 so the take would have had to been 1600+ anyway

thats 160 buy ins or top ups... since I'd say 60 topped up anyway, thats 100 buy ins before the break. seems low but not that low...

I went all-in on the first two hands (after the flop) and lost them both, thereby necessitating twenty euro down the swanee. 1st hand, BB, Ace queen suited, raise 200, called, flop is Q J T, I go all in, he calls with Q J. "REBUY!!!" Then get a pair of tens, raise minimally, called, flop comes J T 8, I go all in only for my adversary to throw over a pair of Jacks. Hmm, I have two chances at a 45 to 1 shot to hit the last ten..."REBUY!!!!!". After that I played some good cards to make it up to 5000 by the break, but a combination of no luck and one of the worst-played hands of my life saw me out in 24th.

For the last month, every time I've gone out after the freeze-out it's been on my big blind. Think from now on I'm just gonna donate it to the pot and throw my cards away without looking.

Any boards.ie people win a ticket last night?

I went out early even though I had a big stack after the rebuy period. Fairly uneventful really. Had some luck early on and then tried to steal blinds 500/1000 with K10. Gerire calls with the hooks and I'm walking. Luckily I only walked as far as the blackjack table and managed to increase my €40 bankroll into €300. €260 towards a ticket in the big one????????? Had a look at the final table before I left at 2am and gerire and russ were going well but it was even/steven around the table.

I made the final table, but didn't do well (went out hand 3 with A9o). Only had €10K chips and was in seat 3, big blind being €3K, so I was under no illusions.

There were originally 6 tickets, but the table decided to make it five plus €135.00 credit to 6th and 7th place.

12th or 13th last night. Hand that killed me was my pocket 5's getting busted by A,J. On a separate point is there some law that says the worse of a player you are, the more luck you get? Seemed like that at my opening table.

    Think Gerire got a ticket.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,881 ✭✭✭bohsman

Gerire why were you even thinking of calling you had no reason to take on a bigger stack, even if you had had pocket rockets there was no reason to play.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,886 ✭✭✭Marq

Yeah Davey, seemed that every time that someone made a bad call at our table they came out on top (even I got lucky once when my Ace 7 outdrew an Ace Jack). You seemed to be having rotten luck with people outdrawing you, although that A8 against Oscar's A9 was just as slippery. We had a strange table though, not many great players but some weird hands of cards.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,221 ✭✭✭Davey Devil

I'll never admit to getting lucky :D, I deserved that after some of the crap that had happened before, unlucky for Oscar though.

Haha, nah, I suspect my 6 €2 coins in my wallet was allot less than everyone else had going to a casino.

It's actually an application to extend the casino, or rather change the use of some the premises from office space to casino space.

Yeah I dont know, I was getting bored thank god it was only a thought and not didnt actually do it. Found Jims rant very funny though it got so worked up so quickly. The funniest part was when he was knocked out 6th and was demanding €135 cash off Sharon instead of credits. He really is a cute hoor was watching him and his slow playing is purely to wreck everyones head imo.

Yeah I won a ticket but hit a few nice rivers along the way to get me there including one where I thought Id lost the pot by the other guy hitting his Q but it paired the board to give me the house and kill him. Also hit a 7 on a river V Davey Devil to give me trip 7's

Was very surprised at how low the prize fund was Ive been involved with half the people and a similar number of prizes. Humm are they starting to take a rake from the pot? Have never seen it so busy it was black last night
