Pixies Secret Gig?

I've heard (unsubstantiated) rumours that the pixies may be playing a "secret" gig. Does anyone have any inside knowledge about this that they'd be willing to share with fellow boardsters ?

While these are only rumours, it does stand to reason that this is at least a possibility.

I was a big Pixies fan back in the day, and while the gig tomorrow could be good, nothing could beat an intimate gig really..

There is a possibility, but it ultimately depends on whether Pixies want to give up a break in their (busy) scheduele to play a smaller show. In any case, it would either be on Saturday after their slot with the Chili Peppers, or Sunday.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

As was the case with the greenday tickets (although the gig was being spammed all over the radio unbeknownst to me) you keep these things to yourself until after the gig and then come on here and brag and brag and brag and brag....etc.

I'd say its a bit late to be organising a secret gig now, i don't think it will happen. Either that or they have kept it way too secret and they'll be no one at it.

Last I checked they are playing every night this week in Europe, so if there is a secret gig it will be sunday/monday. They have no gigs pencilled in for them nights.

They are playing in France on Monday. They have nothing planned for Sunday, but it really acts as a break in their scheduele.

To be honest, if anything was happening, I'm sure the word would have spread by now.

Last time they played in the point, Frank Black went to the (now defunct) Rock Garden afterwards and played.

What an amazing gig. Me and me mate were sitting on a crate drinking cans in an alleyway near Temple Bar late saturday night, the pixies came along and set up their gear in the alleyway and played for about 90 minutes. It was just me and me mate, it must of been hard for them to keep it so secret, apparently Frank is good at keeping secrets thats what he said in the banter between songs anyway. Awh it was class, fu@kin class, couldn't believe it, debaser made my ears bleed. It was great to see them play to just 2 people cos like 110,000 idiots in the park was just too common for me and me music savy mate. Until next time frank.

Do you not think maybe the cans did more to help you see pixies than their actual "presence"?:D

my mate was in slatterys of capel street last sunday watchin the englan- france match and he said santiago and kim deal where admiring the thin lizzy theme and was chattin away to some dude in a pixies t shirt.did they play a gig upstairs afterwards does anyone know?i know that place does gigs but would the pixies play somewhere out of the way like that(suppose they might)

Actually now that me and me mate are sober and out of casualty, I think it could have been the dutch gold playing an evil trick on me mind.

It'd be exactly the kind of thing the Pixies would do but I don't really think they would have with their current schedule. I'd say they were just there to chill out for a while before they have to go to Paris.

Apparently the big secret special event gig thing that was being hyped turned out to be The Thrills playing a dj set in Whelans.

LAME! Wasn't even secret, I saw a poster advertising it in the window of the side door of Whelans about 2 weeks ago.
