    I dont see why savannah lions are rare and why they cost so much to buy, a 1/1 creature can kill it and it doesnt have haste so does anybody know what the big deal is?

    Simple, its a 2/1 for {W}

    Which would you prefer, a 1/1 for {W} or a 2/1 for {W}

    Also, its in Alpha which means its an old card thats been reprinted. Making it all the better. Perhaps you were looking at the old version to buy, which was why it was so expensive. They shouldnt be more than €2 per card, these days.

    savannah lions are actually quite handy, a nice beatstick for cheap, although theyre useless late into the game, having no special abilities whatsoever, and not even having the minor advantage of being a soldier. also, in an environment with so much removal, hes likely to get wiped away before anything happens. and theres also the whole being killed by small creatures thing as well. tbh, i wouldnt put him in a deck, maybe if i was drafting under extreme circumstances

    A lot of the value is in nostalgia (as mentioned) and is similar to serra angel in that respect. However it is still a very efficient creature, one that I wouldn't hesitate to put in a draft deck- pass 'em this way if you don't agree :D
    Wizards have been pushing WW recently thogh without it's staple disruption cards (stp and 'geddon) it can't compete- here's hoping for an (extremely unlikely) 'geddon reprint in 9th :cool:

    Extremely unlikely you say...? :)

    it just seems to me that the current WW needs to run equipment just to be decent.

    and in my opinion most of the equipment is generally not that good except for skullclamp and look at what happened to that card.

    i think that back in the day, classic white weenie could just lay down threat after threat and lay down a crusade or two to keep the beats going (to this day i still can't believe how the anthem got selected over crusade)

    if there just happens to be any obstacles you have these handy tools:
    1) balance - the great equalizer
    2) swords to plowshares - very unbelievable mana to effect ratio - i love this card
    3) armageddon - just to stop those pesky control mages and their ilk
    4) wrath of god - protection from white you say?
    5) disenchant - i still don't it's right that green has naturalize to replace this - it just feels so wrong

    of these five - only wrath of god is still available in standard environment for white.

    ah - i miss the good old days - at least we've got exalted angel AND silver knight in exchange so it's not too bad.

    well - enough ranting - i don't play the game much anymore - just a game here and there every time a convention/prerelease is held. :D

    Here's to Armageddon in 9th (although i think that a card of that power would more than likely be in an expert level block)
