just found a link to an english site (or rather a finnish site with english)
    http://www.hanmoodonet.com/english.html

    still looks a little suspect,

    any thoughts?

From that link it seems that the first clubs were founded in Finland, and in 2003 they planned to expand to other countries.

A lot of Korean martial arts only got organised in the 1950's, tkd included. The contrast is that TKD and others are global, whereas this seems very local.

Sounds like it's a branch of Han mu do
    www.hanmudo.com

If you ever read "TKD and Korean Martial Arts" magazine you would see this mention quite abit, it looks like it has iit's origin in hapkido/kuk sul won

This actually sounds like a very interesting art.

Going by the websites it appears to take in alot of different self defences, which is always good if ya ask me. I'm a TKD student, and although it is the art of hand and foot, it seems to me at yellow belt, that it is more focused, yet not entirely focused on kicks, and blocks... more so that the punching.

However, looking at this Han Moo Do, or Han Mu Do, it is very broad, looks at many areas of defence, such as unarmed defence, weaponary, punches, kicks, and so on.

I'd nearly give it a go if there was a class nearby me.

Finnish Han Moo Do is a totally different martial art than Han Mu Do.
Han Moo Do is actually changing its name to Chi Woo Do because of that.

I recommend Han Moo Do for everybody. It's a very versatile art and gives you great physical exercise.

There is probably a HMD club in Varkaus but I'm not sure of that.

yeah Han Moo Do has nothing to do with Han Mu Do, I was at the demonstration tonight & the person I had contact with in the club told me that the latter is from america but has been registered in/as Korea/n. He had a pocket notebook with Han Moo Do (Chi Woo Do) on it, but he said they are still only considering the name change as to change all the logos would be a bit of work.
