Watching the cricket on sky sports at the moment, But there is no interactive option? One of the reason I got sky in was because cricket isn't available on any other platform? Is it right there is no interactive option with an irish sub? If this is right its a bit poor, especially when we are paying more for the same package than a uk resident?

Looking at reports on news:uk.sport.cricket it seems there is no interactive cricket this year. :(

Well, When the test was on, The commentators kept saying that it was and all you had to do was press the red button!

For some reason, it comes and goes on the Irish versions of Sky Sports. On my digibox, I was initially rather impressed that Sky disabled the red button during play, then annoyed when I saw the reference to the unavailable interactive service.

On both Saturday and Sunday, the red button, and the Active Cricket option, was available on channel 401 on my machine, though it vanished later in the day. However, there was another way to get to it at any time, and apologies if I'm repeating information you already know. It's too late for the test, but presumably the interactive option will be back for the one day series.

Go into the Programme Guide, and then the A-Z listings. In this section, all programs on the EPG in the next 24 hours are listed, including, for some strange reason, the British versions of the Sky channels that carry Irish advertising (so this excludes the UK version of E4). So, to take the cricket example, in the A-Z, go to Sport, then click the green button for the Cricket listings. You will find two versions of the Sky channels with Irish ads, the Irish version carrying the channel number, and the UK version with no channel number, just the channel name. Every time I went to the UK version, the red button was available, and Active Cricket was always there.

You can check the A-Z listings to double check what I've just said, and you should find that, for Skys One, News, Sports 1, and Sports 2, all programs are double listed, and the non-numbered version should show the UK ads. Well, apart from Sky News, possibly, as every time I hit the red button on the UK version of the channel, I got the Irish version of Sky News Active, and was always returned to 501 after exiting the service. But to come back to the point of this note, Active Cricket is available on Irish cards, you just have to look for it.

Very intersesting. I have Sky Sports Uk tuned in to my other channels, But I found that the red button wasn't working with them either on my Irish digibox? Oh well, I will have a look at the A-Z listings any how. Thanks for your help.
