Where can I get different floor coverings

A mate has a taxi and recently got his seats covered with tailor made leatherette covers €420. While not cheap look like original kit and easy to keep clean. Because leatherette is so soft/bendabe but hard wearing he was thinking putting it on the floor of the car. As even though he has mats the edges of the original carpet still get dirty and are starting to smell. He has tried the original place he got the seats done but they only do seats. Just wondering if anyone ever got their floor covering changed

    Thks

Best solution, if the carpets are starting to stink, is to unbolt the seats (if necessary) and remove the trim from the car. Get some fairy liquid and work it well into the mats especially in the foot-well area. the get a pressure washer at them.
Leave hanging to dry and refit. you'll be amazed at the results!

Cheers for that Paddy, did that with my own and as you say top job. The problem the mate has is he needs to do it every two months or so(a lot more traffic) so he was looking for a soultion that could be wiped clean instead of taking it apart.

Auto Glym HI Foam Shampoo works great for me. Will shift most stains and dirt. You just spray it on leave for 15sec then wipe with a damp cloth. Obviously the worse the stain the harder its going to be to shift.

    Footplate perhaps?
    but seriously,
the best, most realistic long term solution
would probably be to get some good quality carpet of roughly the same
colour and cut out a set of mats to fit.
black carpet always look very presentable, no matter what the colour of the trim.

Otherwise, if he finds a source of car mats, and just fork out replace when the old ones are ragged.

    What do you think yourself?

Thanks for all the input lads but came up with another idea. Since the original carpet is semi moulded to fit the shape of the foot wells, center console he is going to strip out the seats/center console and take out the carpet all together. Then get a lenght of leatherette cut it to size and glue it straight on following the contours of the original. With any luck should do the job and look the part and smell nice:D
