Where in Longford? How about setting up a group data scheme?

Actually I did some research yesterday, and talked to a crowd called last mile wireless in Athlone.

They tell me that they are planning to offer service in longford in the next 3 months.

    See http://www.lastmile.ie

I'm about 3 miles out of the town, on the Dublin Road, Crossan cable don't come out this far and my line is split with a pairgain adapter, so i can't get DSL and the dial up service never manages any better than 28.8K.

I'd be interested in collaborating on a group scheme, PM me if you know anyone who might be interested in the Longford Town area.

    Regards

Near the Fountain Blue (RIP)? :)

I don't know anyone around there. You wouldn't be all that far from Ardagh, would you? Maybe Longford's quaintest village would be interested in going all high-tech, and you could take it from there.

Last Mile would probably be a good bet for backhaul for a GDS, unless of course they planned on offering service out your way themselves.

You should talk to Xian about how to go about starting one.

Not as far out as the Fountain Blue, technically in Shroid, up the road past Shroid GAA pitch.

I'm probably about 4 - 6 miles from Ardagh, which i guess is within the operating distance for wireless.

I'll pm Xian and see what he has to say.

    Thanks
