Um, why am I banned?

I appear to be banned from the Unreal forum. I don't recall doing anything deserving of that. In fact, its been very civil in there for ages now. Could someone tell me why I'm banned?

I too have been banned. I can't see why. It seems like all the people who posted regularly have been banned.

Whoever banned us is either an admin who doesn't realise that the unreal board may "chit chat" a bit more than other boards because we actually talk to each other in real life, or it's some muppet who's guessed an admin password (likely the 2nd methinks).

Either way, this uninvolved dictatorship is ridiculous. I suggest that we have one of the unreal board regulars as a mod, that way silly bans can't happen.

I suggest killian for mod.

Well - if no one complains, nor cares when topics go off in some strange direction, (as on the Unreal board) then it's not doing anyone any harm. We're all computer literate and we all know how to make new posts for unrelated stuff - that's not to say I've never done it I'm just saying that I doubt it had anything to do with us wishing a certain someone congratulations for a certain day.

The strange thing is when I view these users in an unreal topic it does not say they are banned which would suggest something more.
And the cheek of these unreal blow-ins to suggest a regular should be a mod. In fairness though since my days of UT glory are gone I would be happy to hand over the reigns to a suitable boardster.

From UT2k to UT2004 I just can't get as excited about it as UT. Never be the same I suppose. I haven't spoken to my old DF clan in a year and I play ET only now so it's looking unlikely.

It deffinately looks like someone guessed my password, which unfortunately was easy to guess, and deleted posts as well as banning users. I've been on these boards since 1996 and my password has been the same since the time I was just a measly user and guessing my password would have no value.
I hold myself partly responsible and as has been suggested the unreal board might be better served by somone actively playing the game. I play the game from time to time only. My real interest in buying unreal games is the technology as the game holds no more allure for me.

I hereby tender my resignation as moderator of the unreal board.

i am banned too... got frustrating being able to see the Unreal forum when not logged in, then when logged in being kept out.

also one of my threads I started about the release of the CBP2 vol. 2 for UT2004 got deleted while my post on CBP2 vol. 1 which has almost the exact same post structure and content remains in the forum. might re-post this when i get unbanned as it's a class map pack - dunno why games1 hasn't got the map packs running yet... although community map packs, they're as good as official map packs in my opinion.

as for a new Unreal mod, how about starting a thread/poll in the Unreal forum? i'd vote K!LL!@N for mod, if he's not interested i'll put my name forward.

Muso you are required to return UT as from the above example it is obvious that UT is da king of games

( i dunno if DF still play UT, think they moved on and then... i dunno. Kinda lost contact after the Irish players quit tho still speak to r1/2 odd time )

Muso as long as you keep an eye on the forum so it doesnt get outta hand (like too many posts in a day*) i dont see why you couldnt continue to mod that o so difficult Unreal forum. Tis up to yourself tho
