So Friends and ER are finished, Srubs nearly is. Fraiser is ending soon, as will be Smallville (on Net2). I think theres only 6 or so episodes of 24 left.

I'm just wondering if there is anything waiting in the wings to replace all the stuff thats finishing?

Most the summer the schedules will be dominated by Euro 2004 and Big Brother granted but surely theres other things on.

So does anyone know of anything new coming on that I can watch? Is there any sign of Alias or the Practice or even Boston Public on the horizon?

I'm a lowly terrestrial viewer. PLease help

CSI New York and a new Law and Order show are starting soon, although if you don't like crime dramas, you're sort of out of luck.

There's also the Friends spin-off Joey that's starting soon as well.

I read somewhere that BBC4 will be showing it soon. I think a DVD has just been released in the US too.

CSI & spinoffs and Law and Order & Spinoffs are ok but theyre on so much now they all start to blend into one another.

I watch Without a Trace and Cold Case sometimes which are ok.

Just seems everyone is a cop these days.

Last new series I really enjoyed was Carnivale

No channel is going to start a new season of anything worthwhile over the summer. I'm afraid you're going to have to wait until the autumn.

It's summer - TV ratings are down - go out and socialise or if that's not your thing start playing an unhealthy amount of video games or renting a lot of movies or borrowing collections of great series off friends (just recommended to my friend beside me that he start watching Sopranos).

Theres that new programme PLAYMAKERS on FX 289(Sky) looks pretty good More info here

I'm sure Sky will have a few below-par series, however a part from that, it will only be BigBrother5!

I've chosen to play an excessive amount of videogames!

That may have been true if we lived in America but even now US networks have taken to launching new shows during the summer, so it's fast becoming a normal thing to have year-round original series over there. Besides that, UK & Irish stations have never had problems starting new shows during the summer.

'One Tree Hill' is starting in July on E4, and if their ad is to be believed, new Sopranos & Six Feet Under isn't far off either.

There's still plenty of stuff with loads of episodes left to show like 'Las Vegas', 'Tru Calling' on Sky One.
'24' still has another 7 episodes to go.
'CSI' season 4 just started on RTE One.
'America's Next Top Model 2' is starting next week on Living.
'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy' is launching on C4 in June... So it's not like there's nothing on :)

The Practice This Sunday who Woo!

Hopefully its last series will return to the good old days.

Buried Alive on Thursdays with Dara O'Brien is very good on RTE 1.

The Restaurant is back, I enjoy it.
Last new series I really enjoyed was Carnivale

They should repeat this I missed it first time round on TG4 is C4 getting it?

Also TG4 have double episodes of OZ late nights on Thursday.

Other then that it is more:-
    Soap
    Reality TV
    Sport

C4/E4 do have the rights for it, but then it took them a year after buying 'Without A Trace' before they started showing it.

That's all that it deserves. Just like every other David Kelley show it has descended into complete trash and cancellation. Even the culling of half of the cast including the worst lead actor to be seen in a very long time wasn't able to save it.

Much better is the return of NYPD Blue, Season 10 on RTE ONE next Monday at 11.50 pm.

Also Season 3 of Ed is on RTE ONE daily at the strange time of 9am from next Wednesday.

Are you sure the Practice is on? I can't see it listed anywhere? IT's not on tomorrow or the following Sunday according to Digiguide.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Looks like Xtravision will be getting quite a bit of money from me in the coming months though :)

Anyone know when the new series of the West Wing and Six Feet Under are starting on Channel 4 or E4? And which series will they be on for both? I saw an ad the other day saying 'coming soon' but no indication of a month.

The West Wing Season Five which is just finishing on RTE 1 will be starting on E4 next month, Six Feet Under Season Four is starting on HBO in the U.S this coming Sunday and will start on E4 in September.

Going by previous years, TV3 airs it just after Showtime finishes showing it. So far they're up to 3x13, and there's only fifteen episodes in the season so I'd reckon it's pegged for a late June/early July start. Oh and I'm really enjoying it so far, particularly the latest episode :)

Six Feet Under is on this Sunday... hope it's good!

'Rescue Me' is starting on FX in the states in the next few weeks - looks like it could be good. A drama/comedy-type thing with Denis Leary as an FDNY fireman getting into all kinds of scrapes...
