New game might be interesting alright. I'm tempted to try a fighter type myself as well. So far I've spent far too much time running away. Barbarian possibly or maybe even a Paladin?

I've been wondering this:

when you wear, say, hide armour, you get a max dex bonus of 4.

Now, if you have a dex of 20 (so would get a natural bonus of 5),
does wearing this armour affect your attack bonus with a bow?
It doesn't seem to on the character sheet.

You would think it would? Or does that dex bonus limiter only
apply to your armour class?

If so, that sucks ass. Archers wearing full plate? What the hell is that?

I googled for this so I may as well answer my own question.
according to a moderator on the HotU board:

"Armors do not restrict your dexterity bonus for any purpose other then your AC. (And they also apply dex penalties to the use of some skills).

But they have NO effect whatsoever on your attack with a bow."

A campaign from MSPanke (he has written some very good mods in the past). This is one of his later one and may have a bug or two, but we can work past that.

Will level everyone up to 2nd at the start.

In the meantime, post your character preference:

Mouserat: Archer type (ranger? arcane archer? rogue?)
MarVel: barbarian or paladin
Me: Fighter or fighter/cleric possibly, depends on what's needed.

oh, it's HotU by the way. make sure you are patched up to 1.62
