Dead relatives watching over you ??

This question i posted elsewhere but its worthy of its own thread


I have a question that i have asked many many people who believe in ghosts and their dead relatives looking down on them all the time to look after them. I think it has ruined some peoples lives, so please look away before i ask the question.
'What do you do about theses dead relatives watching you when you are having a ****?'

Meh, as they say "stuff happens". If you've been doing it all this time, then why worry now?

if you actually believe in the afterlife, you might think that your dead relatives have other things they might rather be doing than watching you masturbate. (if your granny isn't going to want to watch you when she is alive, she's hardly going to take it up as a hobby when she passes.
Failing that, think about the part in sixth sense where the kid sees the people hanging in the school, but willis can't see them, even though he is dead.
Its a bit like life, we only see what we want to see.

But seriously, we humans who are alive are far too stupid to even know what could possibly happen when we are dead since there is nobody on the earth who can give us a vivid description. We can only guess and try piece things togeather. But we all know we are so far off the mark deep down. I mean seriously, there is way too much **** going on.

your very right there cheesedude, it is very difficult for us to comprehend what an afterlife might "look like".
I think its easier for us to think in terms of how it might feel.
for instance, there could be a place or a state of being/mind where your oblivious to your surroundings, and you could associate it with feelings of indifference..so to speak..or not giving a crap.
there could be a place (state of being/mind) of confusion, feeling like you just don't know whats going on and so you feel lost.
There could be a place where you are coherant and and yet still associate with a physical life, and desire physical things..maybe that makes you feel regret.
There could be a place which surpasses all those feelings, a place of knowing and understanding..and (like mammy bear says) it feels just right.
I can't paint a picture of angels and floaty things because that would be my own personal perception, but I would associate "that place" with feelings of knowing understanding acceptance..the "just right" place.

I've had the same thought myself. In fact , if you take it a step further, if you believe in a higher power, are they watching you as well? I had a Sunday School teacher once say that when out with a boy, imagine Jesus sitting in the back seat of the car, and act acordingly.
AHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Scary thought!!!

But regarding the question, I think that since the dead are now detached from their physical selves, that even if they saw you they wouldn't care. I personally believe that the spirits of the dead only hang around close to the earth for 3 days after death and then go on to the spirit world. If they come back after that it's for a purpose, not just to lurk around. So just be good for 3 days and then you are home free!

I know people who've had some pretty bizarre experiences with seeing dead relatives, and to be honest I don't know whether to believe them or slap them till they're sane.
