E4/C4 Pulls 'The O.C'

E4 are showing episode 14 of The O.C 'The Countdown' tonight, claiming it's the season finale. They're pulling the show to make room for Big Brother coverage, which is sucky for anyone watching the show on C4/E4 rather than TG4. It leaves 13 episodes unaired.

They've promised it'll return in the Autumn after BB finishes up...

'One Tree Hill', the other teen drama TG4 airs with 'The O.C' on Saturdays has also been acquired by C4, and it starts on the UK channel from July. Worth a look for anyone who missed it on TG4.

it baffles me how after 4 series, with each one getting worse (ratings and content wise), they still give it such huge coverage, and its amazing how they pull other shows (which are probably doing well) for this crap.

If they insist on making a new series, they could at least cut back on the amount they show, if there was just 2 hours or something across both channels, that would be enough, along with the over-night running on e4, because theres nothing else on anyway. this is stupid (even though I dont watch OC).

Indeed, while I watch 'The O.C' on TG4 anyway, my brother only started with the show when E4 got it, so I can imagine there's lots of people like him that aren't happy with E4 pulling the show for the next 10+ weeks.

It's bad enough that E4 just cancel the late night repeats of their primetime shows for live BB. I got burned last year when I expected a midnight 'Smallville' repeat
To halt shows altogether is pretty poor imo. It's like anyone who tries to resist BB will be assimilated or punished for their non-BB viewing habits.

but we all know that e4 will be punished for trying to force it down our necks.

heres hoping this BB is the last one, and c/e4 remember what makes them some of the better channels going (on terrestrial anyway), and they stick to it.

Pity, the O.C is a very watchable show, unlike the tripe that is BB.

ffs , i always count on those E4 repeats during the night to catch up on stuff i miss during the day cause of work, kids, football, missus etc. . it's what you call quality time for myself to watch all those trashy shows that i really shouldn't watch but just do. The OC was another very watchable american dross only for its storylines mind you as the main cast cannot seem to act in my opinion save for the nerd guy ( can't remember his name ...just shows you ). Can't even watch the E4 repeat on Monday night as it clashes with corrie and the missus !!! So where does this leave me ?

As for BB do they really have to show it LIVE all friggin night ? Most boring piece of crap ever . If reality tv is what you want just take a look at Hell's kitchen , Gordon Ramsay is just priceless and the celebs what the feck are they doing there if they didn't know what a real working kitchen entails ? Were they signing up for a cookery course ?

Anyway off on a tangent there , suffice to say bring back The OC and all the other crap back please if only to while away the time while surfing boards at the same time :D

Is that fact or just your opinion?

well my opinion has always been it sucked, it just gets more annoying that it keeps coming back.

I cant find anything on the ratings for last year at the moment, but I do remember there being a huge drop as there was nothing very interesting going on, which is why it went 'evil' this year

As far as I remember the ratings went down last year, but were still considerable.

I think we are getting off topic here, this is not a another thread about the merits or otherwise of Big Brother, this is about Channel Four and E4's appaling treatment of the O.C.
