I dunno how anyone watches this crap.
I never watch TV3 and I don't have ITV so I never see it thankfully.

I watch corrie most of the time but I'll feel I can happily miss episodes if there are so many. The storylines can only move fowards so quickly - less and less will happen in each episode.

Doesn't three half hour slots not make it "feature lenght"... that's a scary thought. "Coronation Street: The Movie". :ninja:

If only for soap (i.e Fair City) - RTE does not produce very much drama.

Watching soaps is a waste of time. 3.5 hours of Corrie? People would be better to read the spoilers & take up a hobby which does not involve TV.

no, its only doing more episodes cos of Todds storyline, and the fact that theres so much to cover, itll be back to normal in about 2 weeks when the storyline is over, so dont worry people!

Coronation Street 7 times a week?? BRING IT ONNNNNNNNN!!! :D
Possibly this soap thing is a girlie affliction??
For some unknown reason I watch Cor.St. every time its on... and also watch the omnibus at the week end too (just incase I've missed any important bits). :p
I also watch Home & Away, Fair City, Emerdale etc. I admit... I am a soapaholic.
It even goes so far as I have been taping Dallas during the daytime (while I'm at work) to watch when I get home. I wouldn't mind but I've already seen them all the first time round!!
My only saving grace is that I don't really follow Eastenders... but I do watch one or two shows a week. Possibly the therapy is working... I'm weaning myself off it. :p

I am a soapaholic... I need help... Thank you for letting me share.

You took the words right out of my mouth. The storyline with Todd & the gay boyfried and Sarah and the baby is getting tedious. I'm not bothered if I don't see the show anymore, and 7 episodes in the week is too much.

i love watching corrie, but like what others say, if you read spoilers you dont miss much. I think the storylines at the moment are alot better than Eastenders. You could go weeks without watching that and wont miss much - so long you read spoilers etc.

I guess it is a girlie thing, the only time my boyfriend watch corrie was when Peter kay stepped in for an episode to take Shelley out on a date.

I guess it is a girlie thing

Wouldn't you prefer more of a variety of shows?

I mean Just to sit down every day after work and watch the soaps to me is just plain insanity. I used to live with two girls who did this. every day

    Home and Away
    Emmerdale
    Coronation Street
    EastEnders
    Fair City

Please they all replicate one another.

I mean there are other better girly shows like Sex And the City, which are far better.

Corrie is, in my book, one of the better soaps. It used to be on 2 nights a week, Monday and Wednesdays at 7:30pm for almost 30 years. in 1989 it went to 3 nights a week, but now, as I said earlier, its overkill.

They'll milk it 'til it runs dry. It shows how banal and unoriginal TV is now (esp. ITV)

But, is it doing the UK viewers (or our own) any good to having all the soaps on every night? All the soaps on every night, for hours on end? As Elmo pointed out, you (and people do!) could spend from 5:30 when Neighbours starts until after 9pm watching Soaps. INSANE!! The UK Govt is looking into cutting obesity levels. Well, if 14 million a night are camped in front of the TV, getting lardarsed, its TV they need to sort out as well as diet and excercise!

I am sorry to have to disappoint you all but Fair City is just as bad as Corrie St.

    IMO

    But thats off the topic.

Soaps should at least go on a break for the summer months.
