was someone being held captive up the side of a mountain and they had to use the plane/helicopter/glider to escape?

I vaguely remember that one, but I think you have your ingredients a bit wrong...

I read recently that McGuyver first name is Angus, surely that can't be right it had to be something like max power McGuyver or something along that line.... but for the love of God -Angus!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,608 ✭✭✭✭sceptre

No, it is indeed Angus. Why do you think someone would insist on being called McGyver?:D

(sceptre in "first person on thread to spell show's name correctly" shocker:p)

I'm sure we'll hear the name when that likely to be crap new "Young McGyver" series with his nephew arrives over here. And then we'll find out how McGyver the only child can have a nephew.

Well sceptre you'll find that he built the child!
Out of Snips and snails, and puppy dogs tails, not forgetting a paperclip and drill bits.

    :D

My favourite was the time he made a nice big bomb out of a detonator and a truck full of lemons.

he made bombs out of pine cones covered in tree sap. i think he wrapped paper around them, lit the paper and threw them. genius!

That's it ... I'm going to start downloading every episode .... have every episode stargate, - I could make a fortune selling then :D

By the way - just wondering people's opinion's of latter mcgyver. I thought McGyver was one of the best tv productions ever, until of course he went back in time chasing .... erm, name escape's me ; but I remember king arthur time & other such scenes latterly, which really did ruin/taint it all.

I say bring back the good 'ole times, when they had the subtle hints on tv 'if you are great at physics, you get chicks', and work hard, and be able to do anything etc.

    Quality.
It's no A-Team theme though, which as we all know is the best theme song ever.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,459 ✭✭✭seanos

till the A-Team sold out - and they have that 'Frankie' italiano-americano retard trying to be cool in it, and it all changed [currently net2, sats, 1805 .... tis really ... terrible ;( ]

Bring back McGyver, would be perfect for sky1 to play as repeats of it would rock ;)

They started last year around June and I know this because I was at home with a broken leg for 2 and a half months and watched it every day. Dunno if it's still being aired though. I was afraid when I started watching it again that it'd be way too cheesy and crap like a lot of the old 80's stuff can be but despite the cheesyness, it's still class.

Yeah, I started watching it again on Bravo last summer. They seemed to go as far as the end of series 3 and then loop back from the start again :\
