    hi,

just wondering if anyone got in done, does it hurt, how long until recovery?

Do I just go to my GP etc....?

    Thanks for your time..........

Go to your GP and he will probably refer you to a specialist or book you in for the op. Depending on how bad it is there may be other options (steroid creams)

It does hurt for a few weeks after the op, the first few days are the worst. Try not to get excited, it really hurts :)

Within a couple of weeks it's fine, although there may be some scarring around where they stitches were.

Had it done in my late teens, been happily using it ever since ;)

    Good luck

I think there is an operation to loosen the foreskin without actually removing it, if you actually want to hang on to it that is.

I'd get the whole chop although it wouldnt be a good idea to build a time machine and go back to poland 1939 if you know what I mean.

But I digress, Just go to the GP and he will know what the procedure is,if you need this done try to book some time off work to allow for recouperation. As for whether to get it loosened or removed do what ever is right for you.

every porno that i see, and therefore every 'lad' that i see in them, is circumsized, so i'm figuring it's the norm or something??? seriously
plus in an episode of seinfeld, elaine by inference is telling jerry that some guy she was with didn't have it sliced, and it looked odd, so i don't know what to think.

It is in the USA apparently.

A friend of mine (English) gave his American girlfriend a photo of his uncircumcised penis when she was going back home so she prove to her friends she'd actually had sex with an uncircumcised man.

Try getting some Irish porn next time.:D

Got it done over a year ago for the same reasons. You'll be in for a night or two, the op only takes an hour or so and you will be a bit tender for a week or two. You'll probably need to take a week off work depending on what you do.

Taking a lot of baths after the op seems to help with recovery. I was out surfing after two weeks so that'll give you some idea.

wouldn't worry about it at all, some people really hate the idea of it, but it's grand really.

There's also the fact that they're having sex, usually the foreskin will pull back, so you can't tell if they do or don't have one.

This is actually a remarkably common problem that is never talked about. Its called phimosis. Circumcision isn't the only answer though. Heres some links for you.

    Circumcision And Resource Page (CIRP)

    CIRP Phimosis Info

    Bit of direct info
Do a search on this board for more info

Do a bit of research. These sites are good starting points. These are the reasons there should be sex ed in school.:)

A mate of mine had the same condition , he's 19 and had never realised that your foreskin was ever supposed to go back untill about 3 months ago. He only found out one night when we were all sitting in the flat having a few joints and chatting about god know what!. Anyway we all advised him to go to the doctor about it , advice which he totally disregarded and proceded to masterbate neumerous times a day for about a week untill it came loose (god knows why it never happened before, or what he was doing to himself to make it come loose this time.) Anyway all's well that ends well. And a couple of weeks later he ran into the flat to tell us he lost the big V and spent the last week of college getting his hole , if you excuse my french. Now I would never advise anyone ever , ever to try to fix it the way he did , but just to let you know that its not all that serious and certianally doesnt seem to have any effects on you ability in the bed.

Anyone see the episode of Nip and Tuck where the creepy Michael Jackson lookalike surgeons son tries to circumcise himself? NOT a good idea!

I also had the same problem up until two years ago. I had just started in a relationship and with mutual ignorance we didn't think there was a problem, until it started to loosen up. Then you could feel pain. So I simply began over the next few weeks to draw it back, further and further, a bit further every second night. Within a month or so it could do the full dance, but to be honest it took maybe up to 6months for it to be as loose as it should be. But I am so very glad I did it this way, rather than circumcision etc...
It was also fortuitous that I was in an understanding, yet young, relationship...

go get cut! seriously! i havent had a foreskin in years, you wont miss it, its more hygienic and you dont lose any sensitivity. [and even if you do you'll just end up lasting longer if you know what i mean. foreskins = useless in these days of underwear and trousers.
