Johnnie McHales in Castlebar - best Guinness in the Universe tongue.gif

There's a place in Dublin called Dakota - I can't remember the name of the street it's on, but you take a turn of Georges St and then another turn so you're running parallel to Georges St. Sweeeeet place - I was in it for a mate's birthday and it's all big leather seats and really cool internal lights and stuff like that- just go to it for a look if you can. It's not way over priced (by Dublin standards) as you'd expect from a place that looks like it does. They do close the doors if it's fairly full, so while it's packed, there's usually enough room to move around without too much stress.

    All the best,

    Dav

in dublin i'd have to say that the "Clontarf Court hotel" or "the fingal" as it was known before that is my fav bar in dublin.

but the one bar that is long scince gone and was defo one of my fave was the zoo bar ( it's now raynards) and it's changed too much and doesn't have the feel of the zoo bar, plus i konw about 3 of the bar men who used to work there ( one is me best mate) man that place was grrrrrrrrreat. women and beer and coctails ....
and the puke stain on the roof !!!

mad times , ahh now look what i've gone and done, i feel old now frown.gif

    the sarah curran.
I know the manager very well.
used to be my manager when i was a wee lad.
then he went all southside on me....UGH!
Anyhoo, probably Viva, Drumms (back in the day), Q bar, Fireworks, Lillies Bordello oh and the Morrison.
I'm actually a bit of an upmarket pub junkey.
but if I want the best pint of guinness in dublin.
Look no further than Maud Plunketts of Malahide. (worked there for 3 years - never a bad pint had once.)
