Hi there, you don't say weather its a Sky digital satellite digibox or a Freeview receiver for digital terrestrial. Can you just check what make it is, and we'll advise accordingly.

Its a digital terrestrial box, no use for satellite reception, and almost zero use in South Dublin, unless reports are to be believed that RTE have resumed digital terrestrial tests from the Three Rock transmitter.

In short, at the moment, its of no real use. :( Keep an eye here on the Terrestrial board for any developments.

I'm living in Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan. Would a Freeview box be capable of picking up UK digital signals, being so close to the border?

I would say you have a very good chance! Do you get your UK television from Brougher Mountain,Limavady or Divis? I recieve Digital from Brougher and I am in Westmeath. Are you using a masthead amplifer?

If your recertion of BBC,UTV &CH4 is very good, and you have full teletext on all channels, there is every chance you will get DTV via your aerial.

According to recent media reports, there has been quite an uptake of Freeview boxes in parts of the Republic...border areas and south east I beleive can get reasonable reception.
