Ok, I found this totally free way for someone in the UK/USA/Canada to call you on your computer (ok not totally free, they just have to pay a national call rate, 1p a minute or so, but free for you!).

You get the Free World Dialer at www.pulver.com/fwd/. When you download the software it allows you to make internet phone calls to anyone else subscribed to the service (similar to skype).

But then there is a link to another site which will allocate you an 0870 UK number and when people call this number it connects them directly to your computer! There is also an option to set up a US or Canadian number which will call your computer in the same way.

Sounds too good to be true but I tried it out last night and it works a treat.

Are you sure that the number isn't considered a 'mobile' number ? Because even in the states there's a surcharge for calling a british mobile !

No, it's a British national number...
