There was more Business Post coverage of Eircom to-day. It talks about the underperformance of the share since its re-floatation.

One interesting comment from an analyst was that Shareholders would be looking to seewhat progress Eircom is making on the broadband rollout when results are announced on the first of June.

If the problems which board posters have highlighted are anything to go by then the answer would be not very positive for the Shareholders.

Also there today was the announcement of Broadband for Dungarvan. It sickens my sh1t that the papers report on these things the way they do.
First of all, Dungarvan has had broadband forever. Fair dues to the cable guy there.
Secondly, Dermot saying that the ring is now finished isn't bringing broadband to the town. Dark fibre in the ground without an MSE to manage it or anyone lighting it means that broadband is absolutely not in Dungarvan over this newly finished infrastructure.
Hopefully it will be one of these fine days, if the MSE is ever announced and if people use the fibre there.
