    Wrong forum.

Please define "i cant back them up". What software are you using? What error do you get?

Do you mean you cant make coppies (backups) of the ones you have just written, or you are trying to copy a DVD from one drive to another?

dvdXcopy is one program i find very good for making backups.......

You might try actually watching the films for a start.

Then give us more information and people might just be able to help you:

    a) What software are you using.
    b) What DVD drive and can it play the DVD correctly including all layers.
    c) What error.

this is just a completely off the wall suggestion but are the discs dirty? double sided ones have a tendancy to be filthy with fingerprints from careless people and this can stop em being read.

also its nothing silly like you dont have enough HDD space to actually rip the discs is it.

other than that what progs are you using and what errors are you getting.
