Just interested to know:- when you ring sky on 0818 719 819, and book an installation, who do they get to do the installation? A local installer or someone from the UK/NI?

    Any replies appreciated.

Usually Sierra or Finlay communications from NI.

Draw a line from Dublin to Glaway and Sierra have the bottom and Finlay have the top

TBH, you'd be better off going to Dixons or somewhere like that. Sierra are a bunch of ................. incompetent prats (trying to be polite). Not only have I had a major problem with the idiots, but I know of a number of people who have also dealt with them, and none have any good reports. I can't remember who does it for Dixons (BMG seems to ring a bell), but my experience with them was great. they arrived when they said they would, and they did a very neat and tidy job, to suit my wishes, not just what was handy for the installer.

Perhaps you could mention the branch as each shop uses a different guy AFAIK

Ah, a test of the memory. The Liffey Valley Branch, with 99% certainty. I'm fairly sure that the company name is BMG, or something very similar. They drive small vans that have Sky Digital more prominently displayed than their own company name.

I was just onto Sky there trying to change my installation date, and they said I had to ring the installers.
I thought he said it was something like Simlay Communications.
    I suppose it was Finlay.

Anyways, the number he quoted was: 01 34443743 (am I allowed to post the number?).
This number does not seem to work.

Anyone know what it should be?
Am I missing something a prefix?

Will they call me, and will I be given a time frame of a couple of hours?

    TIA.

There's too many numbers. There should only be 7 (excluding the prefix).

It was a long time ago, I doubt I still have any of the paperwork, and I wouldn't know where to start looking for it on the off-chance that I still have it somewhere.
