I noticed last night during a reality show, the TG4 logo was gone, I had to look carefully because it's so small. Later a show called OZ was on and again to logo. And on todays' Childerns line up Cula 4 it's still not there.

Should I complement TG4 on being the only decent Irish TV channel or is it just an accident?

Not having a DOG does not automatically make a decent Channel. Some of the best channels have DOG's.

Yes you're correct but it's much better without it.

It's on-screen right now while the news is on.

BTW, I think it's the nicest DOG of all, barely intrusive at all. However I'd still prefer none at all.

Yes it's back now, and you're correct it's the least annoying DOG.

At the very least DOG's should be removed from the Digital feeds of RTE/TG4

a (unobtrusive) DOG might arguably make sense on analouge channels but when you have a digital EPG they make no sense at all -plus they can act as a disincentive for viewers (especially those with plasma sets) to watch your channel.

Mind you campaigners against DOG's could have a secret weapon here.
They could just point out to advertisers that owners of plasma TV's (who are by definition likely to be high spenders) cant watch channels with bright DOG's

One thing that annoys me and I have never heard an answer to is the arguement that DOGs are so viewers can know instantly what channel they are watching so why are they pulled off during ad breaks

You can usually tell by the programme what channel you are watching but try doing that during an ad break

So the time they would be most useful is of course the time they are not on screen

they did it with BBC 1 and 2 and soon after outrage ensued

One think I do like about the BBC Three & BBC Four DOG's is that they do not have them on-screen while drama, sport or films are on.

Yes in fairness it's left off for those things, most importantly during films, but they have now started putting Comedy Tuesday under the BBC 3 DOG on Tuesday and other things foe the different days which is annoying.

The News 24 DOG is dreadful it blocks things like subtitleing and the names of people if its relaying another network or a foreign clip. well atleast put it top left or right!!!

It's gone again 22:51 Nip/Tuck also the picture is very badly pixelated, particularly walls behind people, is TG4 or NTL digital to blame?
