Great news, although it does make me wonder at Eff-Eff's uncanny ability to pull rabbits out of hats just when it's coming up to an election. Again. And of course their record on actually delivering isn't exactly stellar either...

I'd be curious as to whether the money for this project is completely guaranteed. Wouldn't surprise me at all if there was wiggle room.

And it might even open just in time for the next General Election!

Will it be christened the CART? :D

Depending on how quick it is, it might just be called the CAT

(sorry, my humour bag is currently empty)

this should be fantastic for lucky people like me - my station will be served by the new trains to Midleton as well as the Cobh ones - according to the article I'll now have 5 trains an hour to choose from, instead of just 1.

I'll believe it when I travel on one.

Five new stations at Dunkettle, Carrigtwohill, Midleton, Blarney and Kilbarry are planned, and it is proposed to have the service up and running by 2007.
New stations? I think they mean re-opened stations (although Kilbarry did close about 1850 ;)).
