Tab key not working?

'lo folks. I lent my laptop to a friend, got it back and the tab key isn't working for whatever reason. Every other key is fine. I don't really want to open the thing up for the sake of one key. I don't really want to open the thing up for the sake of one key.
I've tried blowing into the keyboard as much as I can, but no joy.

Can anybody else think what may be causing this?
If it's a circuit problem, then should it not be affecting the whole row or keys?

you could just try flipping off the key and seeing if there's anything obvious ....
