if you have to get it asap, then peats is your best bet, but they're expensive.

If you can afford to wait about 1 week, then komplett.ie is your best friend. They are a good bit cheaper then peats, and for about 10-15euro postage (with DHL) you can have the drives within 2 days of ordering.

Peats has tons of HDs, but they are very expensive IMO. I bought an 80g S-ATA there recently for 99 (couldn't wait to get it elsewhere). Buy from Kompett if you can wait, much cheaper.

not too urgent. I know peats are expensive ive bought most of my stuff there but was just wondering if i can get cheaper elsewhere. If peats are expensive what are maplin:D . Also i dont have a credit card do komplett allow other payment methods such as laser cards. Im still open to suggesions for actual places to walk into and buy the things on the day.

    Thanks for the replies

Your lookin for 2 SATA drives for €140, does that include the power adapters and SATA cable you will prob need? TBH i think you dont have a chance in hell with that budget, unless PC world do a super special and then get the price wrong........... you cant even buy em online for that!!

    IDE mabye?

Jasus lads, It direct on Parliament Street is cheaper than peats if you need them quick, ( but not cheaper than komplett, natch ).The cheapest you will get there is an 80Gig sata hdd for E96.Or a 160Gig for E140.:dunno:

    what about ide

Well actually, if you want Raid then save up a little more and get the two SATA hard disks........... other than that a single 160gb like combatcow said.

You can pay places like www.jes-computer.de / www.hitide.ie / www.elara.ie VIA bank draft if you have no CC. Jes are the cheapest you will find, and they even cant come close to 2 SATA drives for €140 im afraid. (there IDE drives are cheaper).

If you want to futureproof your purchase, maybe you should go for SATA drives. They're more efficient drives too. You'll have to increase your budget though. You could pick up 2 SATA drives on JES for less than €200. I have a Samsung Spinpoint 1614C bought from JES. I've just oredered another so as I can use RAID for a speed increase. Shipping will cost €28 from JES and it's shipped through GLS. Check out the JES website.

If your in Dublin City Centre, on parliment street near city hall is ITdirect. Just pop in. Usually have a load of stock, if not will order it for you.

Their not as expensive as peats.
