    can someone give me an example of a web service. i.e. somthing developed using j2ee or .net

    AFAIK the amazon developer API uses .net

    Written in JSP, probably incorporating J2ee. Has an online shop, could be called a web service.

    If it's not written in .net, they're a big bunch of hypocrites.

    Or were you looking for a different type of web service....?

    Campus.ie is done through jsp's

    I believe google is a web service. It offers a Java API that allows you query it throught SOAP.
