Searched for 'Selective Recruitment Ireland' and 'Selective Recruitment Baggot St' and can't find a thing on the internet - anyone know their phone number or website? Would LOVE to work for eBay...

I couldn't find them either but they have a few jobs posted on Recruit Ireland. But that site doesn't give an address either. Apply for another job these posted and tell them you were interested in positions in ebay. Thats what I did. But like most agencies, don't wait up waiting for them to call you back.

Have a friend working there, he loves it 2 months later.

Starting Pay is around 25 to 26K and (Unconfirmed) there is 35 Days leave per annum.

    It is out in Blancherstown.

Would my working there even for that money compared to the Kip that I work in and to get away from these gombeen muppets.

I was going to get an interview with Paypal through an agency (Manpower? i think...), unfortunately i had to say no because of the mad shift work and because Blanch is kinda hard for me to get to.

Could have been good though :(

Its stuck in the middle of nowhere alright. What "mad shift work"?

Well, since the position was for their 24hour support center, I would have been required to work every second Saturday - in return i'd get a day off during the week of course, but at times i would have to work shifts til midnight, and then start in the afternoon the next day - and so on...every alternate week.

That would have messed me up completely, i kind of got used to the old 9-5 routine. At least you're off at 5 and have the rest of the day to yourself. Also, as i dont drive, how would i get home from Blanch at midnight? Just seemed like too much hassle for not enough pay (i think they were offering 25K. For any other job - yes, but shifts.....)

    Ouch.

If u were going to be there till 12 they'd arrange transport - some of the depts where i work are open 24-7 and they arrange a taxi/minibus for people on crap shifts...anyhoo my job used to have some shifts but now its 9-5 i'd have to say i prefer the sifts because its great having a day off during the week or getting a few extra hours in bed!!!....maybe i shud apply to ebay but it would mean moving from IT to call centre stuff - dont think i want to do that....?

Personally I would love to work nights as you have more flexibilty. I did it for a while in AOL and was great and earned another 25% on top of what I had a basic.

And great for online gaming and having nearly the whole bandwidth to yourself.

I applied to them last year (ebay) and had three interviews, at one point the interviewer got the head of ebay to come round and meet me - because i'd said I was an ebay addict and buy and sell loads on there - and I thought I would definitely get it then, took them two weeks to get back to me and then they said they were only recruiting people with degrees....why the f*ck did they drag me out there three times when they saw I haven't finished my degree yet?

Having said that, the package was fantastic for what the job is, you've no phone work, I think the holiday allowance was around 30 days, pay was fantastic for customer service (25+ bonus), AND you got 1000 shares in ebay when you joined!
Which is worth a considerable amount last time I checked.

It wasn't select recruitment I went through, it was one that started with M, had a very unprofessional looking website...I can't for the life of me remember their name

Actually, just remembered you can apply online on the paypal.com site.

A 38C I think. There maybe a local feeder bus too. Dunno that that would be. Then theres the private crowd AMC they run buses in that area aswell.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,846 ✭✭✭✭eth0_

38c yeah. It's actually a great service, really quick, takes under half an hour to get from town to D15 (goes via finglas) as opposed to an hour on the 38.

    E-mail CV's to: dublinjobs@paypal.com

    :D:confused::D

I will give them one thing out there from what my friend has told me, there is plenty of staff nights out, staff interaction with mangement, decent pay, canteens, possibly a gym and a relaxed dress code and the starting pay well it is fine if you want to work in a relaxed atmosphere compared to the city centre and it's hetic way.

I will check out from him further for any contacts in HR and will see if there is a e-mail address and post it here.

Maybe I can get out of this suit once and for all and wear my PJ's to work.:D

Dotcommie jobs are the best...as long as the money lasts! I would love to work for another. One of the places I worked for in San Francisco a few years back allowed all workers to bring their (huge and smelly) dogs into work, all day, everyday. Google in Dublin allows the same thing, actually.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 577 ✭✭✭Wrestlemania

Thats cool, except when they started to pooh and bark!

    My dog would love that!

Official Line they are recruiting in June.

    So fingers crossed.

Heard it on the radio this morning

    www.ebayjobsireland.com

Well I rang, and talked to the agency. Sent my CV and got a receipt to say they recieved it and then nothing else. Usual agency carp. Now they have a website I'll apply direct. Screw the agency.

    http://www.ebayjobsireland.com/jobs/Listings.asp?jobFile=1256

What sorta money would be going for this job?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,307 ✭✭✭ionapaul

I have a horrible feeling that applying via the new ebayjobsireland website just directs your C.V. to the agency. I previously mailed my info direct to the agency, and they never even replied, no receipt or nothing! If anyone hears anything back from ebay, please let the rest of us know :) I definitely would like to interview with them...
