Yeah I've done one for the drums a few years ago.
What course are you doing PMTC or LGSM?

I'm going for the PMTC. It's just I heard about this guy I know - he's absolutely incredible, and apparently he only got in on the second or third attempt. I've been practicing like a demon in the hope that'll help me out...

If you end up getting a place. whatever you thought was incredible before will only amuse you for a few minutes! Trust me on that one.

How's your theory side of things?
Do you know any of the different modes of scales?
Piano will have to be taken as a second instrument, can you play piano?
(I could only do the C major scale on one hand going in there. By the second week I could do all the major scales not inc #'s on both hands over two octaves. And had started voicing 2,5,1 chord progressions). Don't mean to scare you but that's the kind of thing you do there!
Can you play a walking bass line over a standard 12 bar blues?

Here's a link to the Berklee sit
    http://www.berklee.edu/wst/auditions/bass.html
It has some great tips that you can use for the Newpark audition.

P.S. Enjoy it, if you get it great. If you don't theres always next year and you'll be ready for it then.

My theory is OK - I have a pretty good understanding of chord chemistry and scales. I can play a little bit of piano, but not much. I can play walking blues bass lines, and I have no problem with improvisation. I have a prepared piece as well, just a jazz progression arranged for drums, keys and percussion in a salsa/latin kind of style, with a couple of little changes for bass solos and the like. I think it sounds pretty good. I'm just trying to keep everything covered. Cheers for the Berklee thing, once I get home I'll have a look at that too.

Hey there - I'm working in that Berklee office (used to live in Dublin and work for Phantom, now live in Boston) let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers Tara, I appreciate the help. I'll let you know if I have any questions. Are you the DJ who used to do Saturday mornings, by any chance?

Hey, I'm in LGSM 2 now, the audition is fine, it's nice and relaxed and assuming you can swing you should be fine, there are no questions on theory as far as I can remember.

    good Luck man
